This one starts with Lex Luthor’s battle-suit flying around Metropolis by itself, freaking out citizens. Luthor is heading into the Galaxy Building, where Perry White almost recognizes him but figures Luthor wouldn’t be bold enough to just stroll right in. A guard feels the same way, but knows it really is Luthor when he phases right through the wall. He phases into Clark Kent’s office (tossing Justin Moore out on his ass) and tells Clark he has a front page story for him. Veronica Mars Reviews: Season 2, Episode 2

This one starts with Veronica contemplating the big bus crash from the end of last episode. We find out that everyone on the bus died except, who’s alive but unconscious, like Gerald Ford. (Sorry, old Airplane joke.) Meg’s in a coma and Veronica feels guilty, not just for avoiding the accident by dumb luck, but because Meg might’ve avoided it too if she’d still been dating Duncan. This one starts with a reporter doing a story on wine production. She’s shown the process called remuage—turning the bottles to sediment collects on the corks instead of at the bottom—which is also known as “riddling” the wine. Coincidentally (or not), one of the workers is Edward Nigma, the Riddler, and seeing the reporter’s interest in the riddling process gives him the inspiration to go back to his criminal ways. Last issue, Barry Allen proposed to his girlfriend Fiona Webb and they decided to skip the long engagement and get married right away. This issue opens with Firestorm and Wonder Woman discussing the hasty decision on the JLA Satellite. Firestorm is kinda pissed off that Flash didn’t give his Justice League pals more notice, but Wonder Woman says Flash is lucky to have found someone else he loves after losing his first wife Iris (in issue 275), so he’s entitled to do things however he wants. Veronica Mars Reviews: Season 2, Episode 1

This is the first episode of Veronica Mars second season, where we find out what’s happened since all the fireworks in last season’s finale. There are a lot of flashbacks in this episode, revealing the new status quo a little at a time. That’s a device that sometimes works, but it can get annoying too. it’s not too bad here, although there’s one reveal they save until later in the show that makes it seem like they were bending over backwards not to give it away. Last issue, Princess Kass’andre (daughter of Golka the usurper) surprised the JLA and their allies in the Siren Sisterhood by confronting them with the magical Staff of Ikara. Kass’andre blasts the JLA with magical energy, stunning them. The Staff’s rightful owner, Krystal Kaa (granddaughter of the last legitimate ruler) freaks out and wants to pound Kass’andre, but her Sisters urge caution, sending their giant ally (Mule) to deal with the dark princess. This one starts with Lex Luthor grieving in the shattered remnants of Lexor, the planet where he was considered a hero and had a family. Lexor was destroyed in a battle between Luthor and Superman (in Action 544) and now Luthor wants revenge. He brings a large chunk of Lexor back to Earth, depositing it in the South Atlantic (and crushing a crimelord on his yacht) to form Luthor’s new base … L Island. Well, this is it … the last episode of the first season, where Veronica (and the viewers) finally find out who killed Lilly. Hang on, ’cause this one gets pretty wild. We start with Keith talking to a newspaper reporter, trying to convince him to write about Abel Koontz being innocent of Lilly Kane’s murder. The reporter is skeptical, but Keith gives him a file full of evidence and introduces him to Koontz’s alibi, the hooker named Cheyenne. The reporter says he’ll check things out. This one starts with Man-Bat sleeping upside-down in a bell tower, clutching a frightened Jason Todd in his arms. Man-Bat kidnapped Jason when he overheard him refer to Batman as his father, although Batman’s more of a surrogate father since Jason’s parents died. Man-Bat blames Batman for his own daughter (Rebecca) dying; of course, Rebecca’s not dead, but Man-Bat is so crazed he doesn’t know reality from fantasy anymore.
