This one starts with the Egyptian Amazons returning to their hidden city of Bana-Mighdal through an enchanted sandstorm, accompanied by Wonder Woman. Their new leader (Nehebka) has brought Diana to their sanctuary because she helped defeat Cheetah and recover their sacred treasure last issue. Diana was sickened by these Amazons’ bloodthirsty ways, but is curious about their artifact, which looks like the same girdle of Gaea that her tribe forged into her magic lasso. This one starts with Fire flying around New York, enjoying the feeling of freedom and exhilaration that comes with her new power-shift. Yes, as I’m sure all of you guessed, Fire can now turn her whole body into living flame like the Human Torch (who she’s almost mistaken for) thanks to the after-effects of the alien Gene Bomb. But she doesn’t know the limits of her new powers yet, so she heads back to the Embassy where Big Barda is waiting to train her and test those limits. The story starts in the present, with Batman watching a yacht belonging to a mobster named Jacobi.
