This one starts with Diana having a sexy dream about Superman, and apparently it’s not her first. She’s been seeing his image everywhere and he almost seems like a god, considering all his power. Diana’s attraction to him confuses her and she can’t talk to Julia about it because Julia’s visiting family in Greece. Elsewhere in Boston, a guy breaks into the headquarters of Ogawa Electronics and hacks into their computer, gathering information about someone called Silver Swan. This one starts with Diana returning to Paradise Island after taking care of the Manhunter robot that was impersonating Pan (which happened in Millennium). She gets back to the chamber where she left her mother (Hippolyte) last issue and finds Heracles (now flesh-and-blood) holding up the entire weight of Paradise Island on his shoulders. This one starts with Hippolyte following Diana down into the subterranean caverns under Themiscyra, led by a vulture that seems to have the power to open passages for her. Hippolyte runs into some winged demons, but burns them up with some lamp oil she brought. In Oklahoma, Steve Trevor sits vigil at his dying father’s bedside, while Etta talks to Steve’s aunt and uncle about his childhood and his mother who died forty years ago … and whose name was Diana. This one starts a million years ago with some aliens destroying an entire planet just to eliminate something called Zuggernaut, which they see as a threat. But Zuggernaut manages to cling to a piece of the blasted planet, which tumbles through space for millennia until it approaches Earth. Last issue, Pan convinced Zeus that he should “honour” the Amazons by banging them all, starting with Diana (aka Wonder Woman). When she turned him down, Zeus freaked out and decided to make Diana undergo a multi-part test in the deadly caverns beneath Themiscyra. If she wins through, she’ll prove herself worthy (and keep her fellow Amazons from becoming Zeus’s sex toys). Wonder Woman 10 coverWonder Woman #10 – “Paradise Lost” – Len Wein/George Perez/Bruce Patterson

This one starts on Mount Olympus, with the gods hanging out and discussing the Amazons and Diana’s recent triumph over Ares. Thanks to some subtle suggestions by Pan, Zeus gets it into his head that he should bang Diana (and figures she’ll be grateful for the attention), then move on and bang all the other Amazons as well. The goddesses in attendance don’t like that idea and Artemis goes to find Athena and Hera, swearing that Themiscyra will not turn into a brothel for Zeus’s personal pleasure. This one starts with archaeologist Barbara Minerva having blood drawn by her manservant to feed some kind of “plant god” in an unholy ritual. Minerva has decided she wants Wonder Woman’s golden lasso, so she’s contacted Wonder Woman’s publicist (Myndi Mayer) to arrange a meeting, claiming she’s found an Amazon girdle that may have belonged to Antiope. Wonder Woman 8 coverWonder Woman #8 – “Time Passages” – Len Wein/George Perez/Bruce Patterson

This is kind of a downtime issue that uses a different format for a lot of the story, combining a handful of images with page-long blocks of text. Most of the text is told in the past tense, reminding us of what’s happened in the first seven issues and bringing us up to date on events since last issue. These mini-stories are interspersed with scenes of Cheetah and her manservant heading to the United States to find Wonder Woman … or more specifically, her magic lasso. Wonder Woman 7 coverWonder Woman #7 – “Rebirth” – Len Wein/George Perez/Bruce Patterson

This one starts with the Olympian gods rejoicing that Wonder Woman has ended Ares’ threat to their realm, along with the threat he posed to Earth. Artemis reminds Zeus that Diana was injured fighting Ares and the gods gaze down to Themiscyra, where the Amazons are trying to heal her wounds.
