Justice League America 28 coverJustice League America #28 – “A Date With Density” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Ty Templeton, Mike McKone/Joe Rubinstein

This one starts with Fire getting out of bed and putting her costume on. She’s been confined to bed for a few days because of whatever happened a couple issues ago. They’re being very secretive about it, but I’m guessing her powers spontaneously upgraded so she can burst into flames like the Human Torch. Justice League America 27 coverJustice League America #27 – “Mindsnap” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Ty Templeton/Dick Giordano, Joe Rubinstein

This one starts with Oberon going to Belle Rêve to tell Amanda Waller about Blue Beetle going nuts last issue and trying to kill Max Lord. Waller and Oberon end up getting along (since their abrasive personalities match) and he asks her help in figuring out what’s wrong with Blue Beetle and fixing it. Back at JLA headquarters, Beetle has been confined to Max’s room to keep him from harming anyone (or himself). Justice League America 26 coverJustice League America #26 – “Slice and Dice” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Ty Templeton/Joe Rubinstein

The title of this comic officially changes (again) with this issue, but I’ll keep referring to it with the same Tag to make searching for it on my site easier. This story starts with Blue Beetle on monitor duty and hating every boring minute of it. Oberon’s not happy either, since he has to keep reminding Beetle to pay attention. Beetle takes a phone call while Oberon goes to complain to Max Lord about his slacking off. Justice League International 25 coverJustice League International #25 – “Repossessions” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Ty Templeton, Mike McKone/Joe Rubinstein

This one starts with the League surveying the mess from the fight with the Khunds last issue. J’onn wants everyone to pitch in and help clean up, but Blue Beetle and Booster Gold get a message that they have a client for their new repossession business. Justice League International 24 coverJustice League International #24 – “The Road Less Traveled” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Ty Templeton/Joe Rubinstein

This one starts with Maxwell Lord doing a little soul-searching. Apparently when the Gene Bomb went off, it affected Max, which means he has a meta-gene. Having that gene means he has the potential to gain super powers given the right circumstances. But Max can’t help wondering if the sentient computer that manipulated him into forming the new Justice League (as we saw in issue 12) knew about the meta-gene when it chose him as a partner. Justice League International 23 coverJustice League International #23 – “Gross Injustice” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Kevin Maguire/Joe Rubinstein

This story takes place in the aftermath of the alien Invasion crossover. The JLI are still on the small Pacific island where they fought the Khunds last issue and are arguing about what to do with the crashed Khund ship. Mr. Miracle is worried about booby traps (or worse), but Guy gets impatient and picks the ship up with his ring’s force beam. Justice League International Annual 2 coverJustice League International Annual #2 – “Hit or Miss” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Bill Willingham/Joe Rubenstein

This one starts with Rumaan Harjavti (dictator of Bialya) rummaging through Maxwell Lord’s destroyed office for something that might help him strike back against the Justice League. But someone else had the same idea … the Joker. He’s found Max’s Rolodex, hoping there’s a clue to Batman’s identity in it. Harjavti proposes a trade-off: if Joker eliminates the JLI, Harjavti will use all his resources to narrow down the possibilities of Batman’s secret identity. Justice League International 22 coverJustice League International #22 – “Little Murders” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Kevin Maguire/Joe Rubinstein

This is another Invasion crossover and it starts with Oberon and Max Lord discussing the alien Invasion of Earth. Most of the team have gone to the South Pacific in response to a summons from Black Canary and Wonder Woman. Max is pretty worried about the threat to Earth, which makes Oberon worry too. He goes to see Booster Gold, who’s pissed off about being on monitor duty and missing all the alien-bashing fun. Justice League International 21 coverJustice League International #21 – “Apokolips Wow” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Ty Templeton/Joe Rubinstein

Last issue, Big Barda, J’onn J’onzz, Gnort, and Rocket Red tracked Manga Khan to Apokolips, where Khan was trying to open trade relations by selling Barda’s husband (Mr. Miracle). When they were attacked by a horde of Parademons, Barda boomed to Earth for reinforcements, bringing back the rest of the team (plus Lobo, who’s been hanging around headquarters waiting for Barda and the others to return so he can kill them and fulfill his contract with Manga Khan). Justice League International 20 coverJustice League International #20 – “If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Apokolips” – Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis/Ty Templeton/Joe Rubinstein

This one starts on Apokolips, with Manga Khan and Virman Vundabar pontificating at each other. Khan has been trying to open trade with Apokolips for decades, but now he finally has something they want … Mr. Miracle. Khan gets a message from L-Ron that the Cluster blew the Justice League ship to hell as soon as it warped in, and that they still haven’t heard back from Lobo (who Khan hired to kill the Leaguers).
