Last issue, Lois Lane found out why some of the Amazons (specifically Diana, Menalippe, and Penelope) have been acting so weird lately: they’ve been influenced (or captured and replaced) by Eris, Goddess of Discord. Eris also had Menalippe serve Apples of Discord at the big feast, causing strife between the Amazons and the guests from the outside world. Comics Reviews: New Titans 64, Legion 5, Suicide Squad 39

Last issue, the Titans were attacked by some of the strange were-creatures they’ve been trying to find. Raven and Jericho were both wounded and the other Titans are worried, since victims of the were-creatures usually turn into mindless slaves. Starfire pursues the werebat who wounded Raven, but has to stop to rescue an innocent bystander, allowing the creature to escape (although she does blast a rapist, thinking he was the werebat). This one starts with Gnort (the incredibly annoying Green Lantern) getting bored and deciding to drop in to see his “friends” in the Justice League. Comics Reviews: Batman 445, Detective 612, Legends of the Dark Knight 5

This one starts with Batman tracking down a self-styled vigilante (the Slasher) who uses various edged weapons to kill people. Thanks to Batman’s intricate knowledge of Gotham (including the sewer system), he anticipates Slasher’s moves and pounds him. In Moscow, another serial killer is on the loose, but this one seems to be targeting only certain people, those on a specific list.
