Wonder Woman #35 – “Journey’s End” – George Perez/Chris Marrinan/Steve Montano
Last issue, Wonder Woman was attacked by Shim’tar, who considers herself the new queen of the Amazons in Bana-Mighdal (an ancient city hidden inside a mystical sandstorm in the Egyptian desert). A faction led by the rebellious Amazon Faruka wants the Amazons to reclaim their glory and make war against the outside world instead of hiding from it. Wonder Woman #34 – “The Tournament of the Crown” – George Perez/Chris Marrinan/Will Blyberg
This one starts where last issue left off, with Hermes attacking the hidden Amazon city of Bana-Mighdal. The Amazons start fighting back, but Diana intervenes before things go too far, calming Hermes down. He tells her he received a plea from Gaea herself to come here and retrieve the Golden Girdle. Wonder Woman #33 – “Secrets in the Sand” – George Perez/Chris Marrinan/Will Blyberg
This one starts with the Egyptian Amazons returning to their hidden city of Bana-Mighdal through an enchanted sandstorm, accompanied by Wonder Woman. Their new leader (Nehebka) has brought Diana to their sanctuary because she helped defeat Cheetah and recover their sacred treasure last issue. Diana was sickened by these Amazons’ bloodthirsty ways, but is curious about their artifact, which looks like the same girdle of Gaea that her tribe forged into her magic lasso. Wonder Woman #32 – “Meanwhile” – George Perez/Tom Grummett/Steve Montano
As the title indicates, this issue deals with events going on while Diana is chasing down Cheetah to recover her stolen lasso and fighting renegade Amazons in Egypt. It starts in Themiscyra, where Hippolyte leads some other Amazons (including Penelope and Menalippe) on a sacred hunt, where the quarry serves as a sacrifice to Artemis. This one starts with Boston police detectives Eddie Indelicato and Michael Shands uncovering some info on a series of savage murders that seem to connect to Barbara Minerva. Wonder Woman #30 – “To Live By the Sword” – George Perez/Chris Marrinan/Will Blyberg
Last issue, Wonder Woman went to Egypt in pursuit of Barbara (Cheetah) Minerva, who had stolen her magic lasso. Getting lost in a sandstorm, Wonder Woman ended up in a hidden city full of Amazons (Bana-Mighdall), but not the Amazons she’s familiar with. She stumbled on the bodies of two Amazons (killed by the Cheetah) and the other Amazons assumed she killed their sisters, so they attacked her. Wonder Woman #29 – “Bloodvine” – George Perez/Chris Marrinan/Will Blyberg
Last issue, Wonder Woman went to England to retrieve her stolen lasso from Barbara (Cheetah) Minerva, but Cheetah’s servant (Chuma) poisoned Wonder Woman’s tea. As she lays dying, Chuma tells Wonder Woman how Minerva gained the Cheetah powers. Wonder Woman #28 – “Jungle Sacrament” – George Perez/Chris Marrinan/Will Blyberg
This one starts in England, with the mercenaries who grabbed the captive Khunds last issue showing up at a meeting on Barbara Minerva’s estate. They think it has something to do with the Khund job, but are suspicious enough to bring weapons. Their guns don’t do them much good against Minerva’s alter ego (Cheetah), who stalks and kills them. Wonder Woman #27 – “From Day Into Night” – George Perez/Chris Marrinan/Will Blyberg
This one starts with Steve Trevor and Etta Candy visiting Themiscyra with Diana. The Amazons have healed Steve’s injuries (from his fight with the Durlans last issue) and most of them are quite happy to meet the son of their former hero, the first Princess Diana. This one starts with Wonder Woman heading home from the Pacific after saying farewell to the justice League. Most of them are quite impressed by her (although Ice is a bit worried that Guy might have a thing for her) and Wonder Woman herself thinks it might be nice to belong to the League (which is foreshadowing her brief membership in the Justice League Europe).
