Well, that’s it for Season 4 of Frankie Drake and for the entire series. Overall, I liked it, just as I assumed I would. I like strong characters (male or female) who kick ass and solve problems, and the 1920s setting has a cool, pulpy vibe that I love. All four main characters are interesting and get their own arcs, although Mary is definitely my favourite. The only complaint I have is that the show ended on a cliffhanger, so not only do we not get to see if Trudy is alive or dead, we also don’t find out what happens with Frankie and Sebastian, Flo and Ellie, or Mary and Stephen (not to mention what happens to her for exposing the crooked cops at her station). But unless they give us another season (or a movie or something), everything will just have to remain unresolved. But I did like the show and I’m glad I watched it. Next week, I’ll be starting my reviews of another series … Stargirl. I’ve seen the first two seasons but missed the third, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it ends. I do like DC comic books and this series seems to get inspiration from some of my favourites (JSA, All-Star Squadron, Infinity Inc.), so I was probably predisposed to like it from the start. Anyway, my first Stargirl review will be up next Wednesday, so I hope you’ll all join me for my latest journey into the DCU.
