Well, that’s it for Season 1 of The Librarians. The show’s as good as I remembered (or maybe even better), but I’ve always loved that secret history kind of stuff that the show does so well. I like all the characters but Cassandra is probably my favourite; I like her combination of sweetness and steely resolve. Ezekiel is cool and I suspect he’s not quite as bad as he likes people to think (I still recall his reaction
when Eve said she’d read both his FBI files). Jacob is probably the one I can relate to the most, since I’m also from a small town (although I’m no brawler and I’m not nearly as smart as Jacob). Eve is great at kicking ass, but I’d like to learn more about her background. We know something about each of the Librarians, but really nothing about her yet. Flynn is kind of an amalgam of the other Librarians put together, but he’s admitted that they have skills he lacks. I’m not that invested in the Flynn/Eve romance (it feels a bit forced, especially after he had romances with the leading ladies in all of the movies), but I assume
Flynn will be a recurring character rather than a regular, so it shouldn’t get too annoying. Jenkins is great, a nerdy scientist who just wants to be left alone to do his research, who then turns out to be Sir Galahad. I hope we see a lot more of him and maybe find out what he’s been doing since Camelot fell. The overall theme of the first season seemed to be how Fate can affect people’s lives, so I wonder what the next season will be about. I only remember a couple of episodes from this one, so I’m looking forward to jogging my memory. I hope you’ll join me starting next week with the first episode from Season 2.
