The Librarians Season 2 Overview

Well, that’s it for Season 2 of The Librarians. The structure was a bit different from the first season, with Prospero turning out to be more of a motivator than a recurring villain. The team was forced to search for artifacts and shut down possible sources of power, but only really confronted Prospero at the beginning and end of the season. The twist of having Prospero be a frustrated Shakespeare was pretty good, and Moriarty as a sort of anti-hero was interesting (although I’m not sure if it really fits with the character from the Holmes stories). The team still works great together and we got to see some more of their backgrounds.Librarians gathered in the aftermath Cassandra is still my favourite, but they’re all great and work well together. Eve and Flynn’s on-again off-again romance is getting a bit annoying, so hopefully they’ve settled that for the foreseeable future (though I kinda prefer the team on their own, with Flynn as an occasional guest star). We got to see some more Arthurian legend, learning more about Jenkins and the Lady (or Ladies) of the Lake contacting Cassandra and Eve, so I hope we get some more of that next season. I’m not sure what’s on the agenda for Season 3, but I’m sure it’ll be interesting so I hope you’ll join me next week for my review of the first episode. If it’s anything like the first two seasons, it should be a lot of fun.
