Well, that’s another season of The Librarians done. This one gave us Apep and his plan to release Pure Evil as the overarching threat, although they only confront Apep personally in a few episodes. We did get a resolution to Cassandra’s brain tumour problem, one that didn’t diminish her gift but augmented it. She found some romance too, as did Ezekiel; I like to think that Cassandra is slipping off between missions to see Estrella and Ezekiel is doing the same with Cindy. Flynn learned to be a bit less insular and things seem pretty good with him and Eve. I’m not sure
what’s in store for Eve; she was said to have some kind of grand destiny and we still don’t know what Charlene said to her before leaving this dimension, so next season might put Eve at the forefront of some stories as we figure out what her destiny is. I like the humour that runs through the series (doing what they do requires a sense of humour to stop from going crazy) and I hope they continue to focus on the bonds of friendship these five have forged with each other. It’ll be interesting to see what kinds of stories they’ll do now that the Librarians have pledged to use less magic to do their jobs. I’m assuming that’s for budgetary reasons, but it could make for some good character-centric episodes. I’m looking forward to starting Season 4 next week and I hope you’ll all join me.
