Last issue, Saturn Girl, Dream Girl, Brainiac 5, and Chameleon Boy escaped from the prison planet where they’d been confined and brainwashed. The first planet they come to after escaping is Naltor, Dream Girl’s homeworld, where they’re welcomed by the High Seer (Beren). Turns out they spent weeks on the prison planet and things have changed on Earth in that time, with the Legion being disbanded and their headquarters shut down. Last issue, a quartet of Legionnaires (Saturn Girl, Dream Girl, Brainiac 5, and Chameleon Boy) found themselves on a strange planet with a bunch of others, all mind-controlled to be placid field workers. Saturn Girl’s natural psychic powers broke her mind-control and she freed her teammates. They decide to look for a way off the planet, but also want to know who brought them there in the first place and why. This one starts with Imra (Saturn Girl) Ardeen waking up in some kind of work camp with her Legion flight ring gone. Everyone around her is very placid and uncomplaining, eagerly going out to work in the fields harvesting crops and doing other chores. Imra tries mind-reading some of the others, but realizes they’re being controlled and have very strong psychic blocks put in place to keep them from remembering who they are. Comics Reviews: Legion of Super-Heroes 31, New Teen Titans 28

This story is mostly set in the past and features several Legionnaires who have died over the years. It reads like filler, since there’s no reference to the current ongoing storylines. The framing device has Projectra (or Sensor Girl, if you prefer) visiting the grave of her dead husband (Karate Kid) on the Cemetery Asteroid. She runs into Invisible Kid, who’s there to pay tribute to his fallen predecessor and the other Legionnaires who have died. This one starts at Legion headquarters with Brainiac 5 apologizing to Projectra (or Sensor Girl as she now prefers to be called) for his suspicions about her. Projectra is cool and says she forgives him, which throws him off a bit; I guess he expected her to have some resentment. Ultra Boy, Mon-El, and Blok are preparing to accompany Ambassador Relnic on a diplomatic mission to Dominator space, but they still don’t know Relnic is being controlled by Universo. This one starts with Darkseid taking a baby (one of a set of twins) and mutating it into a monster before sending it into the past. The story shifts to Rimbor, where Validus is on a rampage. He ends up in a cave containing a statue of Darkseid and runs into Ol-Vir, the renegade Daxamite who worships Darkseid and was a member of the Legion of Super-Villains for a while. This one starts with a handful of Legionnaires (Chameleon Boy, Dawnstar, Star Boy, Invisible Kid, and Timber Wolf) on a mission to Xanthu (Star Boy’s home planet), where they’re helping repair the huge orbit-beacon that guides incoming ships to land on the planet. The beacon was damaged by a meteor strike, so the Legionnaires have to repair it and get it back into its proper orbit.
